风雷益
损上益下，利有攸往
The Judgment
Increase: it furthers one to undertake something. It furthers one to cross the great water.
The hexagram of Increase shows wind and thunder rousing each other, enriching all things. It is well to have somewhere to go and well to cross the great stream. To draw down from above and give to those below, spreading benefit far and wide, this is the very moment for bold endeavor.
风雷，益。君子以见善则迁，有过则改。
益，损上益下，民说无疆，自上下下，其道大光。利有攸往，中正有庆。利涉大川，木道乃行。益动而巽，日进无疆，天施地生，其益无方。凡益之道，与时偕行。
Interpretation(original text)
益，增益也。损上益下，减损上体以增益下体之象。与损卦相反，益为施惠于下、利泽万民之道。《彖》曰「损上益下，民说无疆」，在上者减损自身而利益下民，此王道仁政之体现。风雷激荡，万物蓬勃生长，益之时义大矣。
上巽为风为木，下震为雷为动。风雷激荡，相辅相成，有增益万物之象。程颐释曰：「风雷相益，风烈则雷迅，雷激则风怒，二者相益者也。」巽入震动，风以散之、雷以动之，万物受此激荡而生机勃发。君子观此象，「见善则迁，有过则改」，增益其德。
六四居上卦之初，阴居阴位得正，为「损上」之起点。初九居下卦之初，阳居阳位得正，为「益下」之受者。六二居内卦之中，阴柔中正，与九五正应。九五居外卦之中，阳刚中正，为卦之主，施惠于下。益与损互为综卦，损为损下益上，益为损上益下。
益继损之后。《序卦》曰：「损而不已必益，故受之以益。」减损到了极点必然转为增益。损益二卦互为综卦，形成天道盈虚消长的完整循环。然益亦有度，《序卦》又曰：「益而不已必决，故受之以夬。」益极则过满而决堤，故须知止。
The Lines
It furthers one to accomplish great deeds. Supreme good fortune. No blame.
The time favors undertaking great works; there is supreme good fortune and no fault. The moment has come to set a grand design in motion.

初九以阳居阳位得正，处益之初，为受益之主。「利用为大作」，宜借此时机做大事。程颐释曰：「初处益之始，居下位而受上之益，宜用此以为大作为。」「元吉无咎」，大吉则无咎。此爻得天时地利，受上方惠泽，正宜奋发有为、大展宏图。
Someone increases him. Ten pairs of tortoises cannot oppose it. Constant perseverance brings good fortune. The king presents this offering to God. Good fortune.
Someone bestows on him a tortoise worth ten fortunes, a gift not to be refused; lasting steadfastness brings good fortune. The king makes his offering to Heaven, and it is auspicious.

六二以阴居阴位，中正得位，与九五正应。「或益之十朋之龟，弗克违」，此辞与损卦六五相同，天降大惠不可推却。「永贞吉」，长久守正则吉。朱熹曰：「六二柔顺中正，上应九五，受益之正也。」「王用享于帝，吉」，如王者祭享上帝，至诚则大吉。
One is enriched through unfortunate events. No blame, if you are sincere and walk in the middle and report with a seal to the prince.
Even calamity can become a source of growth, and there is no blame; keeping sincerity and treading the middle way, one reports to the prince, jade token in hand.

六三以阴居阳位不当，处内卦之极。「益之用凶事」，以凶事（丧事灾难）来增益——借逆境磨练而成长。「无咎」者，若能中行正道则无咎。程颐谓：「虽处不正，然于益之时行中道，以应凶事之变，亦可无咎。」「有孚中行，告公用圭」，以诚信秉中道，禀告公侯用玉圭为信。此爻讲逆境中成长。
If you walk in the middle and report to the prince, he will follow. It furthers one to be relied upon in the moving of the capital.
Walking the middle course and reporting to the prince, one's counsel is adopted; one becomes a trusted support, fit even to guide the moving of the state's seat.

六四以阴居阴位得正，处上卦之初，为损上益下的关键位置。「中行告公从」，秉行中道禀告公侯而获从许。「利用为依迁国」，利于作为依靠而迁都大事。王弼注：「处益之时，居近君之位，承上益下，可以大事托之。」六四为传递上位之益于下方的中间人，其中介作用至关重要。
If in truth you have a kind heart, ask not. Supreme good fortune. Truly, kindness will be known as your virtue.
With sincere goodwill in the heart, one need not consult the oracle to know there is supreme good fortune; kindness freely given returns as others repay your virtue in kind.

九五以阳居阳位，中正尊贵，为益卦之主。「有孚惠心，勿问元吉」，有诚信施惠之心，不必卜问自然大吉。「有孚惠我德」，人们诚心感戴我的恩德。朱熹释曰：「居尊位以阳刚中正之德施惠于下，有孚信惠爱之心，天下归之。」此爻为益道之极致——至诚施惠、不求回报。
He brings increase to no one. Indeed, someone even strikes him. He does not keep his heart constantly steady. Misfortune.
None enrich him; rather he is struck at, and if his resolve does not hold firm and constant, misfortune follows. When increase reaches its peak it turns to loss, so beware of pride and excess.
Image: 莫益之，偏辞也。或击之，自外来也。
上九以阳居阴位，处益之极。「莫益之，或击之」，无人增益反遭攻击。益道至极而不知止则生患。「立心勿恒」，心意不恒定，三心二意。程颐释曰：「处益之终，益极则过，居上而求益不已，众人不与而反击之。」此爻为益道之警戒——益极必损，贪得无厌终致祸患。

益卦象征增益、获利。损上益下，如同上级惠泽民众。运势大好，正是进取有为的好时机，宜积极行动、广结善缘。
事业上有贵人相助、资源增加的好势头。宜趁势推进重大项目，扩大影响力。但获益之后应回馈社会、惠及他人。
商业上利润增长、市场扩大。可以加大投入、拓展业务。利人利己的合作模式最为有利。
学业上进步神速，有获奖或升学的好运。宜加倍努力，把握每一个学习机会，见贤思齐。
感情上互相扶持、共同成长。有新恋情或感情升华之象。双方都能从这段关系中获益。
此时做决定大多吉利，宜积极进取。见到好的机会果断把握，发现自身过错则立即改正。行善积德、利人利己。
School Interpretations(original text)
益者增也。损上益下，天施地生。风雷交助，万物皆益。君子行善改过，其德日新。
此卦巽风在上、震雷在下，风雷相助，势力增强。象征着利益增加、好运降临。得此卦者，运势大吉，凡事有利。宜积极有为、大胆进取。但益不可无度，获益后应行善积德、回馈社会，方能持久。
运势亨通，贵人扶持，万事顺利。
财运极佳，投资获利，可适度扩大。
家运兴旺，添丁进财之兆。
身体强健，但防风邪入侵。
