乖离背违，求同存异
The Judgment
Opposition: in small matters, good fortune.
The hexagram of Opposition shows fire above and lake below, the two drawing apart. In small matters good fortune may be had. Facing division and estrangement, one finds the right path by beginning with small acts of reconciliation.
上火下泽，睽。君子以同而异。
睽，火动而上，泽动而下，二女同居，其志不同行。说而丽乎明，柔进而上行，得中而应乎刚，是以小事吉。天地睽而其事同也，男女睽而其志通也，万物睽而其事类也，睽之时用大矣哉！
Interpretation(original text)
睽，乖违、背离也。火动而上，泽动而下，二体相违而行，故名睽。然睽中有合，天地睽而其事同，万物睽而其事类。《彖》曰「天地睽而其事同也，男女睽而其志通也」，乖离之中自有相求相应之理。
上离为火为明，下兑为泽为悦。火炎上而泽润下，二者各行其道、背向而驰，故有乖睽之象。然离为中女，兑为少女，二女同居而志各不同。程颐释曰：「二女同居，其志不同行。」然睽中有合，明以照下、悦以从上，背中有向之可能。
六三与上九正应，六五与九二正应，阴阳相应而位皆不当，正体现睽中求合之艰难。九二居下卦之中，刚中有德；六五居上卦之中，柔中有明。二五正应为卦之枢纽。初九居下无应而孤独，上九居极而多疑，此二爻最为孤睽。
睽继家人之后。《序卦》曰：「家道穷必乖，故受之以睽。」家道穷极则生乖离。家人与睽互为综卦，家人和合而睽乖违，正反相照。睽后接蹇，乖离则行难，理之必然。朱熹曰：「睽乖之极，终必合也。」物极必反，睽极则合。
The Lines
Remorse vanishes. If you lose your horse, do not run after it; it will return of itself. When you meet evil men, guard against blame.
Regret fades; a horse that strays need not be chased, for it will come back on its own; and even meeting disagreeable people, one may avoid harm.

初九以阳居阳位得正，处睽之初，与九四不应而独处。「悔亡」者，睽始而悔，但悔可消。「丧马勿逐，自复」，失马不必追寻，自会归来。程颐释曰：「睽之初，虽乖而未远，自然会复。」「见恶人无咎」，睽时见恶人反而无咎，以避免加深矛盾。
One meets his lord in a narrow lane. No blame.
An unexpected encounter with one's master in a back alley, an unofficial meeting, yet it wins his trust and brings no fault.

九二以阳居阴位，不当位而居中。「遇主于巷」，在小巷中偶遇主人。朱熹曰：「二五正应而为睽隔，不得正途相遇，故遇于巷，非期而会也。」睽违之中寻求相合之途，虽非正道亦可「无咎」。此爻体现睽中求合须灵活变通、不拘常规。
One sees the wagon dragged back, the oxen halted, the man's hair shorn and his nose cut off. No good beginning, but a good end.
One sees a cart hauled backward and its ox held fast, and its driver branded on the brow and mutilated at the nose; the start is grim, yet in the end things come right.

六三以阴居阳位，不当位而处内卦之极。「见舆曳，其牛掣」，车被拖拽、牛被牵制，行进艰难。「其人天且劓」，遭受刑罚之象，处境极为困窘。王弼注：「居睽之时，处两体之际，近不相得，远不相应。」然「无初有终」，虽困于始而终能与上九合应。
Isolated through opposition, one meets a like-minded man. In sincere exchange, though danger threatens, there is no blame.
Estranged and alone, one finds a companion of true kindred spirit; joined in good faith, they weather the danger together and no fault remains.

九四以阳居阴位，不当位而处上卦之初。「睽孤」，孤独乖离。「遇元夫」，遇到初九同德之人。虽睽而能相遇、以诚相交。程颐谓：「初四虽非正应，然同为阳刚之德，睽时相遇则交孚。」「厉无咎」，虽有危厉而终无咎，信任化解孤独。
Remorse vanishes. The companion bites through the soft flesh. To go forward, what blame could there be?
Regret dissolves; one's own kin are as close and easy to reach as biting through tender skin. To go forward, what fault could arise?

六五以阴居阳位不当，然居卦之中、尊位。「厥宗噬肤」，其同宗之人来亲附如同咬柔软之肉，容易亲近。与九二正应，柔中之德感召阳刚。朱熹释曰：「六五柔中居尊，九二刚中在下，相应以合。」睽中有合，「往何咎」，前往无咎。此爻为睽极将合之转折。
Isolated through opposition, one sees a pig covered with mire, a wagon full of demons. First one draws the bow, then one lays it aside. It is not a robber but a wooer. Going forward, one meets rain, and there is good fortune.
In lonely estrangement one imagines a filth-smeared boar and a cartload of ghosts, and raises the bow to shoot, then lowers it, seeing these are no bandits but suitors come to wed. Press on, and when the rain falls, bringing the union of opposites, there is good fortune.

上九以阳居阴位，处睽之极。「睽孤，见豕负涂，载鬼一车」，极度猜疑使所见皆为妖异怪诞。「先张之弧后说之弧」，先拉弓欲射后又放下弓。程颐曰：「睽极则合，疑极则释。」与六三正应，虽经猜忌惊疑，终能「遇雨则吉」。雨为阴阳和合之象，睽极而终合。
Divination Reference(original text)
市场出现分歧对立时，小规模试探性操作为佳，不可在对立严重时大举押注。
与同事或合作伙伴出现意见分歧时，从小事入手化解误会，切勿对立僵持。
感情出现隔阂时，主动沟通、以诚相待，误解终将消散，守候终有团圆。
身体内部出现不协调（如免疫紊乱）时，需要从基本调理着手，勿急于求成。
Traditional Reading(original text)
睽卦象征乖离背离、意见分歧。火炎上而泽润下，方向相反。虽有矛盾分歧，但小事仍可有成。求同存异是化解之道。
事业上可能面临团队分歧或合作不顺。不宜勉强统一意见，应在差异中寻找共同点，各展所长、互相补充。
商业合作中存在分歧和不信任。小规模合作可行，大项目暂缓。注意沟通，消除误解后方可深入。
学业上可能遇到不同学派或理念冲突。宜博采众长、融会贯通，在比较中形成自己的见解。
感情上双方性格或观念差异较大，容易产生摩擦。需要包容理解，如能求同存异，反而能相互成就。
面对分歧不要一味对抗，要在不同意见中找到平衡点。看似矛盾的事物中往往蕴含着解决问题的契机。
School Interpretations(original text)
睽者离也。火上泽下，二体相违。然异中求同，分而能合，小事可成，大事宜缓。
此卦火上泽下，火焰向上、泽水向下，方向相反，象征离散乖违。人事上主意见不合、关系疏离。然物极必反，分久必合。得此卦者，不宜强求统一，应以柔和的态度化解分歧，小事吉、大事缓。
运势欠佳，多有口舌是非，宜忍让。
投资宜小不宜大，合伙不利。
家人不和，需多沟通调解。
心火旺、肾水虚，注意水火调和。
